DT Christian Gonzalez of Milford Academy (New Berlin, NY)

At this point, with only one or two surprise names left for us tomorrow, we're feeling pretty good about Coach Leipold's ability to hold on to the guys from the previous class and build a solid class of his own despite the late start.

In retrospect, we shouldn't be too surprised. Gonzalez was Leipold's first commit of his own after taking over, and rates as high as a three stars on the recruiting sites. Milford Academy is in the same vein as the more well-known Hargrave Military Academy, where student-athletes play a year after their original high school to get their grades up or show something more to college recruiters. At Gonzalez' first school he was ranked #120 in the state by Rivals.

Christian is listed at 6'4', 290 on his Hudl account and shows it on this highlight video. He is a very large human being. You can't be sure of the level of competition here, but watch how easily he sheds blocks to make the play.
