Over the last two seasons UB has put together a 42-36 conference record and not only qualified for the MAC tournament but won games. The 42 MAC wins is far more than the 24 which UB amassed in seven MAC seasons from 2005 to 2011.
After last season however UB lost a ton of talent.
The core of the surprising 2013 team, which nearly won the MAC regular season title, is almost entirely gone and 2015 will be a key year in seeing how able Buffalo is able to reload.
The Bulls lost pitcher Mike Burke to graduation and the MLB Draft. Joining Burke in the draft was Tyler Mautner, a junior Infielder.
The bulls also lost a second pitcher in Kevin Hughes. After battling injuries throughout his career Hughes broke through in 2014 and earned Second Team All-MAC recognition.

I didn't truly realize how much production left with 2014 until I started putting this together. At the end of the day, this season is going to be a big chance for the program to show that it's raised its game; a fourth straight season with 20+ wins would be a program first and especially significant given all the underclassmen stepping up.
The coaches of the Mid American conference picked UB to finish 5th in the East.
UB opena up this season with a trip to Gardner-Webb. At GW the Bulls will play one game against JMU and two against the "Diamond Dogs" of GW.. The first pitch of the season is Friday at noon.
Recently the James Madison baseball team had a pair of standouts named to the 2015 Preseason All-Colonial Athletic Association Team:
Junior shortstop Chad Carroll and senior outfielder Kevin Husum are the Diamond Dukes' big offensive threats. Carroll was named the Preseason CAA Co-Player of the Year prior to the 2014 season before missing all but 16 games due to injury.
Last season Husum led the Dukes in on-base percentage (.418) and stolen bases (6) in his first season at JMU after transferring from Gulf Coast State.
Gardner-Webb was recently projected to finish seventh in the 2015 Big South Conference Baseball preseason poll.
On the mound for Gardner Webb is ace pitcher Matt Fraudin, who was runner up for the CAA Preseason Pitcher of the year.
