Buffalo Women's Basketball vs Duquesene, Wrestling vs Eastern Michigan Game Thread

UB Athletics

Two for one this afternoon for UB fans, with a pair of young teams that are proving plenty exciting if you give them a chance.

Both Women's Basketball (6-1) and Wrestling (4-1) are in action a 2:00 PM, with the ladies taking on Duquesne looking to bounce back from an ugly blowout loss to Hofstra, and the grapplers taking on Eastern Michigan in their first MAC dual of the season. UB's last MAC win came three seasons ago against the Eagles, and while the group is still young today will be their best chance, with their most experienced lineup, in a very long time.

Click through on the sidebar for yesterday's full wrestling preview. UB will need results from a pair of redshirt freshman standouts at the beginning and end of the match in Kyle Akins and Jake Gunning, while it looks once again like Colt Cotten is in line for a thriller. It looks like all we'll have to go on is Twitter, but we'll see what we can do.

It will be much easier to follow the hoops game, which will be broadcast on ESPN3 from Alumni Arena. The Dukes are 6-1 like the Bulls but are without any super-impressive wins. At 73 points per game their offense will test a UB defense that looked like one of the best in the country before being torched by Hofstra. Buffalo could have their hands full at both ends of the floor with Kadri-Ann Lass, who's averaging 2.1 blocks per game while pulling down 7 rebounds and scoring 12 points.

If you're unable to pull up ESPN3 or just want a superior listening experience, Sloane Martin's radio call can be heard here.
