Swimming and Diving tops Bonaventure, Bowling Green this weekend

Megan Burns closes out an undefeated freshman year in the 50 and 100 free as Swimming and Diving claims three dual wins.

UB Athletics

This weekend just keeps getting better, as Swimming and Diving won all three of their competitions over the last 24 hours and change. Friday night, both teams were in action against St. Bonaventure, and destroyed the Bonnies as they had Canisius and Niagara before them, 160-132 (Men) and 161-98 (Women).

This afternoon, it was just the women in action, but in their final look at a MAC team before the conference championships, they knocked off the previously-undefeated Bowling Green Falcons 154-146 thanks to a come-from-behind win in the meet-ending 400 free relay. It was Bowling Green's first dual loss of the season (though they did not face Miami).

As usual, the multiple winners plus any UB season-bests from the weekend:

Abbey Croce: [SBU] 3 Meter Dive (274.50) **UB Season Best

After a pair of tough losses to EMU and Miami, this result has me much more confident in the women's chances at the MAC Championships. It's worth noting that Bowling Green did not face Miami, who has taken on all comers, but I also think that Coach Bashor has been jiggling the lineup quite a bit since the return from Winter Training.

On the men's side there's not a whole lot to do but happily applaud the easy win over the Bonnies. After the Ohio State Invitational in a few weekends I'll have a post stacking up UB against the best times in the MAC.

Go Bulls!
