Time to teach the Giants some Manners!

The NFL preseason games are upon us and the future football careers of two UB Bulls will be front and center. The slate of preseason games begins tonight with the the Bills and giants squaring off in "The Hall of Fame Game". The Contest is played in Canton Ohio, where Andre Reed was just admitted to the NFL hall of fame.

I grew up watching Kelly to Reed so watching Jim throw a pass on stage to Andre was a great moment. It was Reed who taught me that the best receivers are not the guys who can burn down the sideline but the ones who can slant through the heart of the defense, take a 10-15 yard pass, and then make six points out of it.

Kinda like we saw Naaman Roosevelt do while he was playing with the Buffalo Bulls.

Roosevelt, a 2009 graduate, set a slew of UB records and then ended up playing for the Buffalo Bills. He had a modest two year career with Buffalo, the highlight was a short pass, a great move, and a 67 yard touchdown against the giants.

This summer he returned to Buffalo after the team after being something of a professional NFL camp participant. Since the Bulls parted ways with Roosevelt he has spent time with the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions but failed to land a spot on either roster.

He has looked good in camp but is still generally seen only as a deep reserve player by the depth chart guys over at Buffalo Rumblings.

Derek Brim graduated this spring and went undrafted but was signed quickly as a free agent with Buffalo. Reportedly Way has done everything an UDFA from a mid major can to make a name for himself. He has played pretty consistent with the third team but climbing the latter onto the roster will require some high level play during the limited snaps he may see in this game.

Absent from the Bills Roster is Colby Way, a defensive end who graduated last year and who played as a depth lineman this spring and summer for Buffalo. The Bills let go of Way late last month.
