Buffalo Bulls Future Schedules

UB Announce this afternoon that the school has signed contracts a home-and-home series with both Nevada and Florida Atlantic beginning in the 2015 season. The Bulls will host Nevada on Sept. 26, 2015 and travel to Reno on Sept. 17, 2016. UB will play at Florida Atlantic on Sept. 19, 2015. The Owls will return the game on Sept. 23, 2017.

The University of Nevada, Reno (commonly referred to as "Nevada" in athletics) competes in the Mountain West Conference. Playing their games at  Mackay Stadium in Reno means that opponents have to face an an elevation of 4610 feet (1405 m) above sea level.

When the Bulls host Nevada, it will be a homecoming for Wolfpack head coach Brian Polian who was on the Bulls coaching staff in 1998 as well as from 2001-03. Polian, son of former Buffalo Bills general manager Bill Polian, grew up in Buffalo and graduated from St. Francis High School.

UB will also get to see Jim Hofher, UB's head coach from 2001-05. He is Nevada's assistant head coach and oversees the wide receivers.The last time UB saw Hofher he was a coach with Bowling Green on the night Buffalo clinched the MAC East in 2008.

The Bulls had announced the series with Florida Atlantic back in October but now the dates and terms are finalized. The series with Florida Atlantic will mark the first meeting between the Bulls and Owls. Florida Atlantic is a member of Conference USA and is coached by Charlie Partridge.

Florida Atlantic University picked up foortball in 2001, coached by Miami and Louisville coach Howard Schnellenberger.  After just four seasons of existence, the Owls jumped from Division I-AA (now FCS) competition to Division I-A (now FBS), joining the Sun Belt Conference.
