Buffalo Bills take free agent receiver Fred Lee into their rookie camp

The Buffalo Bills invited UB receiver Fred Lee to this springs rookie camp for a tryout. Lee joins defensive end Colby Way and defensive back Derek Brim as class of 2014 Buffalo Bulls who will be trying to make the roster across town with Buffalo's NFL franchise.

Lee spend the first half of his senior season in the shadow of teammate Alex Neutz but when Neutz was injured against UMass the Chester South Carolina native stepped up and helped carry the Bulls to their second Bowl bid. Over the last six weeks of the season the Senior had 33 receptions and 3 touchdowns. During the Potato Bowl Lee had 4 receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown.

Last year Lee spent his spring semester mentoring at-risk students at Starpoint middle school. He worked with youth of all ages, whether it was volunteering at day care centers, speaking at local schools, or reading to kids. Also in the community, Fred has spent time at the veteran's hospital volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House, the Red Cross and with the Big Brother/Big Sister program. On campus, he has taken part in the Women's Football 101 day, UB Kid's Day activities.

For his work Lee was a recipient of the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Idaho Sports Medicine Institute Humanitarian Award at the Humanitarian Awards Dinner. Lee was also a member of the ee became the first Bull in program history to earn a spot on the Allstate AFCA Good Works team. The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team has honored college football players at all levels of the sport for their selfless acts of giving back to the community and off-the-field achievements.

Out of the 21 UB seniors graduating this year eight have now been either signed by an NFL team or invited for a tryout.
