Buffalo Bulls Win the MAC East

Adam Hunger

After a back and forth first 10 minutes of the game UB's seniors took over and made this seasons senior day something special. The 88-65 win was anchored by Javon McCrea's career high 34 points which included his first career three point shot.

All of the seniors had great moments. Transfer Joshua Freelove scored 10, Jarrod Oldham added five rebounds to further secure his all time standing as UB's 4th best in that category. A lot of the attention to Buffalo has obviously went to Javon McCrea but Jarod Oldham has spent four years being the floor coach for the Bulls and he has been something special to watch.

In addition to the Seniors showing their stuff UB's next generation of leaders were impressive. Shannon Evans scored nine, Jarryn Skeete put up 11 and Will Regan scored 8 points. While nobody on the court will be replacing the Kraken next season it will be interesting to see what Bobby Hurley has in mind.

The last five minutes of the game felt more like an exhibition match against Buff State than a MAC East battle with a team that beat Buffalo earlier this season.

UB will now head to Cleveland where they wait for the winner from the campus rounds to join them in the quarter finals. With Javon only three points short of two thousand is safe to assume he will set that mark early on in the Quarter Finals.
