Last season Khalil Mack was being projected as a second or third round pick by most draft guru's. Despite the chance to get right into the NFL his mother convinced him to return to Buffalo for hist senior season so he could finish what he started at Buffalo.
Thank you Momma Mack!
Last year the MAC saw Central Michigan tackle Eric Fisher taken first overall by the Kansas City Chiefs. This season it's starting to look more and more like Khalil Mack could make it back to back first round picks for the conference.
Mel Kiper. is now projecting Khalil Mack to be the #1 overall pick, going to the Houston Texans. While I am hoping that this rigt every draft need matix I have looked at said the Texans need a Quarterback. Perhaps the evaluation by SBNation's own Stephen White has a lot of weight. White said that Mack is the most NFL-ready defender in the draft. He had a solid performance at the NFL combine and his pro day only improved on his standing.
The logic, according to Hustlbelt, goes like this:
New head coach Bill O'Brien certainly knows the personnel situation isn't that bad, and he likely wants to win right away. O'Brien, a former quarterbacks coach, probably doesn't have the patience to let Teddy Bridgewater, Blake Bortles, or Johnny Manziel learn the job over the course of the season when there are dependable, if not flashy, quarterbacks on the roster.
Lights, Camera, MackTion!
