After a absolutely monster week Javon McCrea was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week. It's the second time this season that McCrea was so honored.
Then again when you average 22.0 points and 17.0 rebounds while the team goes 2-0 is there ever really any doubt?
In UB's most recent contest with the CMU Chippewas, McCrea had 25 points and 20 rebounds. He became the first UB player to have a 20/20 night since 2007. He also threw while adding an assist and two blocks for good measure.
Earlier in the Week, against the Ball State Cardinals, McCrea threw up 19 points and 14 rebounds. In that contest he added an assist, two steals and three blocks.
McCrea is now the 26th player in MAC history to go over 1,800 career points. On the season McCrea now has 11 double-doubles and 18.0 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.
In terms of Buffalo records McCrea's 1,826 is only seven points out of of second place just 82 points shy of the all-time scoring record held by Rasaun Young. He also became the first UB player of the modern era to topp 900 rebounds.
