NECHL Hockey - Buffalo Bulls vs Syracuse Orange

Last week the Bulls let a key league matchup with Niagara get away in the third period.

The Bulls tied the game 1-1 in the second period on a goal by Brenden Robinson but the Purps scored early in the third, added another goal mid way through the frame, and then put one in an empty net to seal the victory.

As always the UB-Niagara game ended chippy, 91 minutes in penalties were handed out. 46 of those minutes were assessed in the final 90 seconds of the game.

At the same time Syracuse was tripped up against Oswego. They were tied late in the game when Oswego's Richie Santini put on past Jaime Ketchabaw with 52 seconds remaining.

Tonight the Bulls and Orange will face off in Amherst, each hoping not to lose even more ground to Niagara.

The Orange are led by John Ross LaPointe. The forward leads the team in goals and points but has been kept off the board in the loss to Oswego.

In net UB will likely see Austin Lefkowicz. The Garden Grove California native has a save percentage of .920 and a Goals Against Average of 2.68.

UB is lead by Bobby Piotrowicz, Brenden Robinson, and Michael Schalberg. Piotrowicz and Robinson are lefties and are 1-2 in scoring for Buffalo.

In net the Bulls are getting eerily similar numbers out of Dylan Arnold (5-1, 1.50 GAA, .945 sv%) and Tyler Stark (4-2, 1.69GAA, .949 sv% )

The Puck drops tonight at 7:00. Admission is free for all UB Students with valid student ID. Tonight is also Military Appreciation night so active members of the Military and their families will also be admitted for free. For all others the cost is $5 for admission to the game.
