Duquesne Outscores Alderson Broaddus, 48-27 - Duquesne University Official Athletic Site Duquesne's football team scored a season-high 48 points, including 21 in the first quarter en route to a 48-27 victory over visiting Alderson Broaddus Saturday afternoon at Rooney Field. The 48 points scored were the most since scoring 49 vs Valparaiso on Sept. 17, 2011 and the 21 first quarter points were the most since putting up 21 in the first quarter of a 37-17 win over Sacred Heart on Oct. 16, 2010.

NSU to receive additional funding from NCAA | HamptonRoads.com | PilotOnline.com The NCAA has approved significant funding for Norfolk State’s athletic department and its academic improvement efforts for the second time in two years, the school announced Tuesday. NSU was originally awarded a $330,000 grant by the NCAA Accelerating Academic Success Program selection committee in the fall of 2012, to be paid out over a three-year period from 2013-15. To date, $165,000 of the original grant has been received by the athletic department.

UMass Football Blog As I said in yesterday's pre-game post, UMass is still missing a few components to play with the top teams in the MAC. As usual, the offense was excellent. Frohnapfel's 438 yards was third-most in UMass history. The Minutemen were right in it until the end.
