UB Hockey 2014-2015 |
---|
Well, the Bulls could not steal a game two weeks ago against then-#15 Rhode Island. UB dropped games by 3-1 and 5-1 scores. The fact it was on the road against such a good team meant that the losses did not hurt UB too much in the polls. Taking advantage of that fact, UB went into Philadelphia and beat three teams last weekend.
So after UB's five-game road trup the Bulls returned home to the ACHA's first computer poll of the season. In that pull the Bulls are sitting at number 14; their only losses against Rhode Island ,who sits at number 7 in that poll.
Tonight UB begins a three game home-stand. Two of those games are against teams that UB fans love to hate.
This weekend they face John Carroll, the school that will eventually host this year's ACHA tournament. John Carroll was ranked earlier this year but they have struggled. As the ACHA host this season the Blue Streaks receive an auto bid, thus taking a ranked team's spot.
Tomorrow night they face #23 Niagara. The UB-Niagara games have a tendency to get chippy and with both teams trying to get into (Niagara) or remain in (Buffalo) the top 18 this Saturday night's contest could stay true to that history.
Next weekend UB has a home game against #23 Syracuse in another ECHL league contest then they go on the road to face Oswego next Saturday.
Puck drops at 7:30 for both games and admission is free with a UB student ID. Out of town fans can listen to the game on WRUB.
