I've written too much this week to have a nice, friendly intro paragraph. If you want to catch up on last weekend, you can always revisit last Sunday's video rundown. Here's what's going on in Buffalo sports this weekend:
Women's Soccer is already in action and has a 1-0 lead midway through the first half. Celina Carrero has the goal and three shots already for the Bulls
Men's Tennis also got the weekend started early this morning in New York City competing at the ITA regionals. Three Bulls made the trip: Damien David, Pablo Alvarez, and Sebastian Ionescu. Men's Tennis Coach Nails Nickell reports that the doubles pairing of David and Alvarez have advanced to the final 16 in their tournament, and Alvarez won and Ionescu lost their singles matches today. I'm unsure how David did but all three have singles matches tomorrow.
Volleyball is on the road taking on Western Michigan tonight at 7:00 PM. It looks like WMU's video services cost money, but we should have live stats at this link.
Men's Tennis: As above, all three of UB's representatives at the ITA Regionals have singles matches tomorrow.
Men's Soccer: Stu Riddle and company are on the road tomorrow in northwest Ohio taking on Bowling Green and MAC leading scorer Pat Flynn at 7:00 PM. Check our twitter feed for livestats and video links when the game gets closer.
Volleyball: The ladies remain on the road taking on Northern Illinois in DeKalb at 8:30 PM. Same story as Men's Soccer regarding links
Cross Country: I imagine the bulk of the cross country teams will be at the Princeton Invite in New Jersey, where the women will go off at 11:15 and the men at noon, but UB also has the Canisius Alumni Invite on the schedule here in Buffalo. Not sure who will be where, but I'll have it covered all the same.
Swimming and Diving: I still can't believe the swimming and diving season has already started. The swimmers will be at the Cornell Invitational Saturday, where competition begins at noon, while the divers will be in Geneva, OH for the Spire Diving Invitational.
Men's Tennis: The doubles team of Damien David and Pablo Alvarez will resume play in the final 16 of the ITA Regionals at some point Sunday.
Women's Soccer: UB's lone home game of the weekend comes thanks to the school's highest-flying team. Women's Soccer will return to UB Stadium at 1:00 to host Toledo from the West Division.
And of course, I'll have the weekly Olympic sports videocast Sunday night and will hopefully be joined by Dave once again. Go Bulls!
