So you're back from winter break and are looking for something to do because UB hoops has two road games. What should the recently resettled UB do Friday and Saturday night.
Fortunately the UB Hockey team has a critical home series against Syracuse. If the Bulls sweep the series they will recapture polls position in the race for the NECHL regular season title. In ACHA hockey it's the regular season title winners who go on to represent their leagues at nationals.
Last season Niagara won the NECHL regular season title and despite UB doing *THIS*.....
...To Niagara in the NECHL tournament it was the Purps were the only team in the league to go to nationals.
The Northtown center is right across the street from Campus and as always the games are free for students (bring your ID's) and ridiculously cheap for non students. The capacity of the newly refurnished arena is 1,800 and when anywhere near that number of fans show up the atmosphere is impressive.
Most Recently Syracuse pummeled Canisius and the Bulls dropped a 7-5 decision. This sets up a tight race atop the NECHL between Buffalo (six wins one loss), Syracuse (seven Wins, one OT win, one loss), and Niagara (8 wins, 2 losses).
These two teams last met during the 2012-2013 season, that series in Syracuse was split. Any UB Hockey Alumni **COUGH** Branded **COUGH** Can take part in an Alumni game before the Saturday game. The puck will drop for the Alumni game at 5pm and will end at 6:30pm. The cost for this UB Hockey Alumni Event is $30.
