I guess being named the national player of the week kind of makes you a lock in your own athletic department
Mack and Svoboda Named Athletes of the Week - Buffalo Athletics
Senior linebacker Khalil Mack had a game-high nine tackles (seven solo), tied a career high with 2.5 sacks and added an interception against No. 2 Ohio State on Saturday. The senior linebacker was all over the field making plays. He intercepted a Braxton Miller pass and outraced everyone 45 yards for his first career touchdown. He upped his career tackles for loss total to 58.5 – moving him into 12th place in NCAA history for career tackles for loss.
And as much as I would like to focus on the upcoming game the national media around Mack is not slowing down
Khalil Mack- National Star - Trending Buffalo
In the opener against #2 Ohio State, Mack totaled 9 tackles (it felt like 19), 2.5 sacks (plus another which was called back due to penalty), and an interception followed by a 45 yard return for a TD.
Meyer, Miller, and Mack - Evaluations - Rotoworld.com
Miller flashed needed improvements, but Khalil Mack’s coming-out party interrupted the opening of Miller’s Heisman campaign. Mack was nearly unblockable and perhaps single-handedly kept his under-matched Buffalo team in the game, cementing his status as a potential first round NFL draft pick. Below I analyze Miller and Mack’s growth as players, and what each must improve to succeed at the next level.
