Ohio State W 52-34 at Cal 3 0 Big 10 0 0 vs Florida A&M

Ohio State-Cal final score: Bucks outclass Cal, 52-34 - Land-Grant Holy Land
Senior captain Kenny Guiton made his first career start in place of Heisman-hopeful Braxton Miller, who is still nursing his left knee injury sustained last week against San Diego State. Guiton put on a near-Heisman worthy performance himself, completing 21-of-32 passes for 276 yards while adding 92 yards on the ground. His counterpart, Jared Goff, had quite the day as well, completing 31-of-53 attempts for 371 yards, three touchdowns and an interception.

Seawolves Fall To Buffalo In 5 OTs - Seawolves Nation
Before we even get to overtime though, regulation was an equally troubling affair for the Seawolves. The defense was sharp, keeping Buffalo’s top receiver Alex Neutz in check and holding the Bulls to just 10 points, fewer than they managed to score against #4 Ohio State and #22 Baylor. But the offense almost failed to show up entirely.

UConn L 32-21 vs Maryland 0 2 AAC 0 0 vs Michigan

The Morning After: Where Do We Go From Here? - The UConn Blog
UConn lost 32-21 at home in a game that really wasn't as close as the score would indicate. The Huskies only trailed 13-10 at the half, but couldn't get out of its own way in the second half and eventually let Maryland QB CJ Brown and his talented core of receivers run wild over an overmatched UConn secondary. The result, the Huskies are now 0-2 and looking at possibly dropping three straight games at home to start the new year.

EMU L 28-10 at Rutgers 1 2 MAC 0 0 vs Ball State

Rutgers 28, EMU 10 " Eagle Totem Eagle Totem
EMU’s running game yesterday did nothing to speak of, producing just a single run of more than seven yards, and averaging less than one yard per carry. Despite getting nowhere with it, the Eagles stubbornly stuck with it, running the ball 40 times for 35 net yards. As W.C. Fields said, "If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it." Averaging less than a yard per carry is pathetic. Handing the ball 40 times despite that is just embarrassing.

Northwestern vs. Western Michigan: Wildcats win, but not by like 57,000 - Sippin' On Purple
No. 17 Northwestern is 3-0. Northwestern's game against Western Michigan wasn't dominant enough to be fun and it wasn't close enough to be heart-rending, but it was a win, and that's what matters, I suppose. Right? Right?!?!?! RIGHT?!?!?!?!?!

UMass L 37-7 at Kansas State 0 3 MAC 0 0 vs Vandy

That Annoying Rattle: K-State 37, UMass 7 - Bring On The Cats
Jake Waters threw an interception which led to seven UMass points, and was terribly shaky throughout, but two Waters touchdown passes, 118 rushing yards from John Hubert and 77 more (and a score) from Daniel Sams, and two Kip Daily interceptions -- one returned for a touchdown -- lifted the Wildcats over the Minutemen in Manhattan.

Bowling Green L 42-10 at Indiana 2 0 MAC 1 0

FalconBlog--Triumphs and Trials in the BGSU Falcon Nation: Hoosier Rout: Special Teams and What's Next
BG did have a brilliant blocked punt TD where Paul Senn took the ball right off the punter's foot and then there was a turnover on special teams. Yes, BG missed an easy FG but Indiana flubbed an onside kick. We will see what we end up with on Tuesday, but for now, I think the special teams were probably pretty even.
