Enough is Enough!

Now is the season of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this team of New York;
And all the losses that lour'd upon our house
In the deep pages of Quinn's playbook buried.

In 2011 Buffalo took on Stony Brook still a team stocked with Turner Gill's players. They punched the SeaWolves in the face 35-7. Two years later and the Wolves have gotten better while clearly UB may have gotten worse. The result is the most embarrassing win this program has ever endured, and yes it is embarrassing right now.

I don't know what more evidence Danny White needs to see that Jeff Quinn is not building a program that will own the MAC. We can point at players who have developed like Khalil Mack but the team?

You did a great job packing the stadium Director White and I applaud you for your efforts. I have said I think you are the guy to take UB athletics to the next level and the 3rd largest crowd in UB stadium history shows you may be just that.

Then your football coach put up one of the most unwatchable football games I have ever seen. And don't let the score fool you there is every reason to think that Stony Brook could have won this game long before the dark comedy that was overtime.

How bad is the coaching? Well Conrad, if he can stomach it will be able to take things apart better than I aver could but I just want to put this out there. Your best back was healthy enough to dress but never saw the field, not even in Overtime!

James Potts Had two carries in the first half for 19 yards, Taylor had 5 for 9. Buffalo had no running game except when Potts was running so what did Jeff Quinn do? Use Potts sparingly and then run a play action after a series of passes which brought a possible scoring drive to a screeching halt.

I'm not saying Potts would have been the answer but it's just another personnel decision I don't get. This is the kind of offensive Genius we have come to expect in Amherst.

What the loss to Baylor and the today's game Stony Brook have proved is that Buffalo is only to really be respected if you're a bottom ten / fcs team or if it's UB's first game of the season. In any other situation you can count on the Bulls to be so unimaginative that they can lose just about any game.

I wish I could say it was just the coaches but it was not. The players all seemed emotionless. It's time for the leaders on this team to realize that they can't count on Quinn, Tepper, or Woods to get them up for a game.

I know it's the coaches responsibility to get the players ready but if they are not going to do it then it's up to you to be the teams leaders. It's going to be up to you to make sure the little things get done right.

Hats off to the 24,000 people who packed the stadium and the guys on the game thread, Danny White if you want to keep us interested you have to make something happen. You have two weeks before UB takes on UConn, try something bold!
