It's not often Buffalo changes the mind of a Syracuse commit but Quinn has done it. Mind you we took one of their Lacrosse commit's but in the world of P5 versus G5 I'll take what I can get. After all Lacrosse players are some of the most athletic guys out there, or so Lacrosse enthusiast tall me.
J.R. Zazzara a dual threat quarterback from the Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse gave a verbal to the Orange last summer. On the gridiron Zazzara, who is 6’3" 185 pounds, has shown his ability to throw the ball, make things happen when he runs.
He has drawn some interest from other P5 schools including Boston College but it seems his ability at Lacrosse is what most schools looked to capitalize on. UB Coach Quinn sees a solid athlete who can be used in variety of formations so he got the football offer out there first.
during his Junior year Zazzara missed the first three games of due to illness. Despite missing that chunk of the season he put up over 1,500 yards in the air and 15 touchdowns. on the ground he piled up996 yards including 12 scores.
If Zazzara follows up on the impressive Junior season he had the challenge will be making this verbal stick until signing day.
