Saron Hood was going about what so many Engineering Students are doing at this time of year. Finishing up their degrees and getting ready for life. Hood's final push was at Texas A&M where he was taking on an internship over the summer. Yesterday Hood was working out when he collapsed, paramedics were unable to be revive him.
Hood had just finished his fourth year with the team, and was never a big on the field presence but off the field Hood was an integral part of the UB Bulls Roster. Hood could be seen next to the coaches helping to call plays into the offense where he served as a depth receiver.
Hood came to Buffalo from San Diego where he was a standout on both sides of the ball. As a senior hood had 27 catches for 568 yards and 12 touchdowns at The Bishop’s School where he played for Mike David. OIn the other side of hte ball Saron tallied had 34 tackles and a pair of interceptions as a cornerback.
The news has shaken the football team and athletics staff at Buffalo. UB Athletic Director calles Saron's passing "A Tragic Loss for the UB Athletics Family".
Please keep Saron's family and friends in your prayers. Hood was still at the beginning of his life, with so much potential and so much already accomplished.
