The biggest conference shaping series of the weekend was Kent's sweep of WMU. With the seep the Flashes managed three things; They gained a game on Buffalo, secured their spot in the MAC championship field, and they knocked the Bronco's out of Tournament Contention.
Kent gained a game on Buffalo because Miami snuck in one win over the Bulls during the middle of their three game set. UB took the bookends and won their eighth straight conference Series.
The Huskies maintain their lead in the West although Ball State did gain a game. After losing the first game of the series 2-1 EMU went on to shell NIU for 29 runs during the final two games.
Ball State won two games, and pulled within a half game of securing their spot in the MAC tournament. Toledo salvaged a game in the series which helped keep them in a position for the post season and kept BSU from pulling to within a game of NIU.
Akron kept pace with EMU and Toledo in the hunt for the eighth seed. and manged to put a game between them and CMU.
Going into next week there are three big series to watch.
Buffalo plays the Falcons and Kent matches up with Akron. UB holds their own destiny but a road trip to Bowling Green looks more difficult than Kents trip across town to take on the Zips.
In the West Ball State trails the visiting Huskies by just two games. The winner of that series takes the West, and probably the third seed in the MAC tournament.
