This is strictly off topic editorial inspired by some despicable things I have seen on TV today
One great thing about the internet is that it gives people the ability to share news and opinions in an instant. One bad thing about the internet is that it gives people the ability to share news and opinions in an instant. Such is the double edged sword the we all yield.
In the wake of Boston so many people had the humane reaction. The reaction you should have had was to check in on anyone you know in Boston, and then anyone you know who has loved ones in Boston. After that maybe jump over to the red cross site to see what's needed. Then, in my case, you pray and pray hard for all who are hurting.
Maybe you sit down with your kids to try and put this into perspective. I fumbled my way through it and while my eight year old got it the my first grader struggled (hints would be appreciated).
The thing that you should not do is start speculating as to the motivation behind the bombings. Already the talking heads are taking their shots. Some on the left are blaming those rascally gun nuts who hate taxes while the people on right are going immediately to turrist'.
Hubert Humphrey said "We believe that to err is human. To blame it on someone else is politics." Sadly there is a lot of politics on display.
The fact of the matter is no matter who you are there is someone in the world who both agrees with you on that issue and is, in fact, evil. We have Tim McVeigh one one side and Bill Ayers on the other. Two people on total opposite ends of the spectrum who thought bombs where the right way to affect change.
The only people who should be focused on figuring out who did this are folks who are paid to catch bad guys. There will be enough knuckleheads on cable TV throwing blame around no need to add our voices to their efforts.
