Take two?
While UB gets readdy for what could be a season defining series against Kent they have some make up work to do. First UB will travel to Saint Bonaventure to play a Tuesday doubleheader to make of for weather cancelled games earlier this season. Then the Bulls will host Canisus in a grudge match against the Griffs.
Saint Bonaventure is led by Jason Radwan, at 414 he is about the best non power hitter in the A10. As a whole the Bonnies lack power hitting. With 7 home runs on the year they are nearly the worst team in college baseball when it comes to putting the ball over the fence. They are, however, pretty good at small ball, effectively using sacrifice plays to move runners around.
Canisius is one of the better hitting teams in the nation, as UB found out in the earlier meeting this year. The Griffs have a lot of high percentage batters and as a team are hitting well over 300 while putting up more than seven runs per game.
In the last game UB led well into the middle innings until Canisius found their footing and proceeded to score pretty much every inning. As with the last game the key will be taking advantage of their pitching while limiting fielding mistakes. The Griffs will likely get their hits, no need to help them out.
Almost as important as winning these games will be escaping with a reseted pitching staff. UB's season could swing one way or the other based on how they manage Kent this upcoming weekend.
