Buffalo to the Beef 'O' Brady's or Famous Idaho Potato Bowl

According to Scott Wilson that is the choice facing Buffalo

Last night the Buffalo News mentioned that UB would be either at the Poinsettia Bowl or at the Beef 'O' Brady's bowl. Today UB Sideline reporter Scott Wilson took the Poinsettia off the table and put the Famous Idao Potato bowl up as a possibility.

The obvious overlap here is the bowl in Saint Petersburg Florida but the Boise bowl has been tossed about for weeks.

Beef 'O' Brady's

The Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl pairs teams from  Conference USA and  American Athletic Conference. Technically it's supposed to be between the sixth ranked team from the AAC and the fifth ranked team from conference USA. The AAC did not have enough teams to fill this bowl. Enter the MAC and it's four extra Bowl eligible teams.

The Belt has two tie-ins and will have seven or eight teams that are eligible this season for a bowl game. But parity does not make for sexy selections. Most of the Belts eligible teams are six-win quards. The MAC has at least two more attractive options in Buffalo and Toledo.

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl

When the International bowl was folding up shop and the Mid American Conference went looking for a place to send their number three team. At the same time the WAC was looking for a new partner in the then Hbmantarian Bowl. The game was then briefly a MAC versus WAC contest until the Western Athletic Conference mismanaged itself into history. After the 2012 season, the WAC stopped sponsoring football and the bowl committee announced that the Mountain West would pair up with the MAC.

The Bowl is played in cold of Idaho on December 21st. The venue is Bronco Stadium home of the Boise State Bronco's and the infamous blue "Smurf Turf".
