The Bulls seem to be finding their legs under first year coach Bobby Hurley. For the first time since February of last season Buffalo enters a game riding a three game winning streak. Despite the streak however Buffalo is still having significant struggles which are not slipping by Coach Hurley.
Hurley frustrated despite Bulls win - Bull Run
"Outside of (winning the game), there's not much that I'm happy about," said Hurley. "We didn't shoot well in the first half and we let them shoot a really high percentage and we never really did anything to separate ourselves from our opponent tonight."
Those kinds of mistakes costs UB their first chance at beating a Big4 team. Turnovers set UB far behind Niagara and a lack of defense prevented the Bulls from catching back up to the Purple Eagles.
On the flip side there is Saint Bonaventure. The Bonnies at 6-2 are tearing through their schedule with a floor shooting percentage that is among the top 30 teams in division one basketball. Their post game is particularly strong, they are shooting 59.9 from inside the arc.
Last season Matthew Wright turned a late steal into a go-ahead layup with 24 seconds left to lift St. Bonaventure to an 82-79 victory over Buffalo.
This season let's hope for a little revenge..
