Ohio State football: The hangover - Land-Grant Holy Land
It has been said that the cure for everything is salt water: sweat, tears, or the sea. I can only hope that this old adage holds true. I took care of the tears already, and I'm sure thousands of others did too. I woke up Sunday sweating $3.50-a-pint poison out of my system, not ready to admit exactly how many of those I bought Saturday night. And Monday I walked down to the Puget Sound, so far removed from the sadness of the Midwest, just to stare out across the water wondering what it all means.

2014 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, Baylor vs. UCF: TV time, team profiles and more - SBNation.com
With no national championship on the line, this game isn't for all the Tostitos, but with a huge payout and BCS prestige, it's definitely worth at least a few Tostitos.

In Response To Bullying Charges, Lawyers For Fiore Issue Cease & Desist Letters - Seawolves Nation
Less than 24 hours after ESPN first went to press with an explosive story detailing serious allegations made by employees and student athletes within the Department of Athletics, lawyers for Jim Fiore have responded by issuing cease & desist letters to ESPN, and anyone else who has reprinted parts of their report, including this site.

In a two-paged letter addressed to ESPN, Richard Hamburger from the firm Hamburger, Maxson, Yaffe, Knauer & McNally, LLP demands that the network retract and remove their report, calling it “false and defamatory.” The letter goes on to accuse the author of ESPN’s article, Kate Fagan, of “reckless disregard of the truth,” and claims she acted “with intent to harm and injure Mr. Fiore’s good name and reputation.”

UConn W 45-10 vs Memphis 3 9 AAC 3 5

A Great First Impression - The UConn Blog
That was my first real impression of Kevin Ollie as a coach. He spoke for only a few moments before a charity game in the beginning of August, but he was both funny and inspirational. A few weeks later, at the press conference to announce his promotion to the position of head coach after Calhoun's retirement, he further inspired, talking eloquently about what UConn meant to him, what he saw for the future, and how excited he was to be a part of it.

Chris Creighton Press Conference Reax » Eagle Totem Eagle Totem
It is a sad statement that a press conference for a new head coach is the brightest spot your program has had since October of 2011, but there it is. It was a bright spot. Heather Lyke didn’t get this guy from Drake, she called Hollywood central casting. Chris Creighton looks like a football coach, talks like a football coach, and has the intensity in the eyes of a serious football coach. He made quite a first impression.

Western Michigan freshman Corey Davis became the second Bronco wide receiver in a row to win MAC Freshman of the Year honors, duplicating the accolades awarded to Jaime Wilson last year.

UMass Loses QB Mike Wegzyn, RB Stacey Bedell, TE Derek Beck to Transfer - Hustle Belt
The UMass Minutemen lost most of their games this season and the losing has continued in the weeks following the final weekend of the season. On Monday it was reported that quarterback Mike Wegzyn, running back Stacey Bedell and tight end/wide receiver Derek Beck have asked to be released from their scholarships.

Kent State Golden Flashes vs. Ohio Bobcats - Recap - November 19, 2013 - ESPN
Kent State rushed for 312 yards and its longest run of the night was from a defensive lineman. Facing a fourth-and-4 from their own 39, Kent State's Nate Terhune took a direct snap and ran a sweep around the left side and hurdled a Bobcat defender on his way to a 61-yard touchdown.

Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl 2013: Ohio To Play East Carolina In St. Petersburg - Hustle Belt
It's official, the Ohio Bobcats (7-5, 4-4 MAC) are going bowling for a fifth straight season. After some strange wheeling and dealing behind the scenes Ohio squeezed in ahead of Toledo and Central Michigan as the fifth and final Mid-American Conference team to go bowling this season.

The Bobcats will face Conference-USA's East Carolina in the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl in St. Petersburg on Monday Dec. 23. The game is scheduled to be be aired on ESPN at 2 p.m. (ET).

Toledo L 31-29 at Akron 7 5 MAC 5 3

Ohio, East Carolina to meet in Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl | Tampa Bay Times
Other at-large candidates included Toledo (7-5), a choice that would have allowed the bowl to market the game as a homecoming for Lakewood High alumnus Bernard Reedy. A second-team all-MAC pick, Reedy's 840 receiving and 1,642 all-purpose yards led the Rockets.

But Dulaney said Ohio's sprawling Florida alumni base, which he has been told numbers approximately 3,000 members, helped get the Bobcats the nod. The average attendance for Ohio's seven home games was 20,671; Toledo's average for six home contests was 18,467.

Introducing Chuck Martin, Miami University's New Head Coach - Hustle Belt
Yesterday was a good day to be a RedHawk. The Miami University basketball team, led by Will Sullivan and Will Felder, overcame a 16-point second-half deficit to beat the IPFW Mastodons. But the big news came from the football field. As SBNation's Pete Volk reported, Notre Dame offensive coordinator Chuck Martin will become the new head coach of the RedHawks. Martin is leaving Notre Dame before whatever bowl the Irish may play in, and he's already started to assemble his staff. (More on them in a bit.)

Bowling Green W 47-27 vs NIU 10 3 MAC 7 1 LITTLE CAESARS BOWL

FalconBlog--Triumphs and Trials in the BGSU Falcon Nation: And then the sun came up...Updated
Obviously, I'm disappointed to lose Coach Clawson, who I think was a great fit for this program. I wish him nothing but the best. He made a huge contribution to this university. He took a football program that was rotting...APR issues, arrests, poor results on the field...and he built it back in a way that is sustainable. He got good players, good coaches, instilled discipline, found ways for those players to succeed. Restored the APR. And he did win a championship, putting him one title ahead of Urban Meyer and Gregg Brandon.

Idaho Bowl: San Diego State vs. Buffalo: Who does want to see Aztec running Adam Muema go up against MAC defensive player of the year in linebacker Khalil Mack. The Bulls did land five players to the first-team all-MAC with three on offense and two on defense. Had Buffalo knocked off Bowling Green they would have had a chance to go to the MAC title. This is only Buffalo's second ever trip to a bowl game.
