W11 Team Tier Change Game Comment
NIU 1 0 W 48-27 vs Ball State NIU piled up "Style Points" but truth be known this was a very close game. This win should help the Huskies in the BCS rankings, perhaps moving them in front of Fresno.
Ball State 1 0 L 48-27 at NIU Ball State was one quarter away from winning the MAC West but the Cards could not put together a full game in Dekalb. They can take out their frustrations on Miami in two weeks.
Toledo 2 1 W 51-41 vs Buffalo Toledo is the only thing standing between NIU and a 4th straight WAC West Title. The Rockets like to jump on teams early, just ask Buffalo. Toledo needs to keep their foot on the gas if they do get a lead on NIU.
BGSU 2 1 W 49-0 vs Ohio Bowling Green put the last nail in Ohio's coffin in this years MAC east race. Win lose or draw next week the Falcons will go into Buffalo on the day after Thanksgiving playing for the division.
Buffalo 2 -2 L 51-41 at Toledo Buffalo made the score respectable but this is a team that needs their offense to show up in the first quarter. UB Might be the best second half team in the MAC but football is a 60 minute game.
CMU 3 1 W 27-22 at WMU The Chips almost got Flecked today but a CMU pick six moments after the Chippewas scored a touchdown was enough to sink the S.S. Kalamazoo. With Ohio in Free fall CMU may have a case to the MAC's 6th bowl bid.
Ohio 3 -1 L 49-0 at BGSU Over the past two games Ohio has been outscored 82-3 by the top two teams in the MAC East. While the Bobcats may go bowling again it's pretty clear they were not everything we expected this season.
Akron 4 0 W 14-13 at UMass Akron survives fumbles on ther first three possessions. Those are the kind of mistakes you get to make against UMass that would get you killed against their final opponent of the year, Toledo.
Kent 4 0 W 24-6 vs Miami Kent used Miami as a tuneup for their final game of the year. Next week they travel to Athens to take on the free falling Ohio Bobcats. Two weeks ago that looks like a sure loss, now I'm not so sure.
EMU 5 0 Bye EMU has a chance to catch Bowling Green looking ahead to Buffalo and they will have had two weeks to prepare for the Falcons. With all the distractions around ex-coach Ron English they may have needed the time.
WMU 5 0 L 27-22 vs CMU P.J. Fleck lost a chance to ingratiate himself with the WMU fan base when Tony Annese returned an interception 34 yards. It's been that kind of year for the Broncos but it's almost over.
UMass 5 0 L 14-13 vs Akron Akron tried to hand UMass the game but as sloppy as the Zip's played the Minutemen played just as ugly. It looks more and more like another 1-11 season for the MAC's newest member
Miami 5 0 L 24-6 at Kent Miami has two more chances for a win. One against Buffalo (7-3) and one against Ball State (9-2). It's looking like this might be the worst season in Oxford since 1900 (The last time Miami ended season with no wins and no ties).
