Week Six #MACtion Recap

Buffalo won but how did the rest of the MAC fare? Check out this week’s #MACtion Recap.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Conference play began for the majority of MAC schools Saturday but the lone school playing a non-conference game earned a biggest win for the conference.

Eastern Michigan 14 Buffalo 42- Total domination by the Bulls. Branden Oliver ran for 150 yards and two touchdowns as Buffalo has no problem taking down the Eagles to earn their first conference win of the season.

Ohio 43 Akron 3- Not going to lie, I thought this game had the potential to be close. Boy was I wrong! Ohio limited Akron to only 157 total yards as they've outscored their opponents their last two games 81-3 to improve to 4-1 (1-0).

Ball State 48 Virginia 27- Great win for the Cardinals and the MAC. Ball State is very good and now stands at 5-1 overall. A tough loss to North Texas in which Ball State blew a double-digit lead is the only reason they’re not undefeated.

Central Michigan 21 Miami 9- Central Michigan should be happy to open MAC play with a win but in doing so, should realize that they beat Miami. The Redhawks are very poor this year and remain winless.

Western Michigan 20 Toledo 47-
Lockport native David Fluellen is a beast for the Rockets. The senior had 220 yards and four touchdowns as he passed 3,000 career rushing yards as Toledo improves to 2-1 in the MAC.

Massachusetts 7 Bowling Green 28- The Falcons took care of business at home as expected to improve to 5-1 (3-0). Now a big non-conference game next week at Mississippi State awaits Bowling Green.

Northern Illinois 38 Kent State 24- Northern Illinois remains the lone undefeated team in the MAC as they opened conference play with a solid win on the road. Cameron Stingily had a huge game for the Huskies, running for 266 yards and two touchdowns on 37 carries.
