These used to be the kind of games that Buffalo lost. UB fans have had their hearts hardened by years of seeing the Bulls "Play down" to the opposition but over the past two weeks they have seen their team come up big against lesser opponents.

This week Eastern Michigan, who had never lost to the Bulls, rode into Amherst hoping to once again down Jeff Quinn but the Buffalo had other ideas.

The tone was set with a Branden Oliver 60 yard touchdown scamper early in the first Quarter. Oliver would score another touchdown and put up 150 yards before Quinn went deep into the Buffalo bench near the end of the third Quarter.

Oliver's second score came on a short drive which was set up by a UB strip fumble and recovery in the shadow of the Eagles' goal post. It's the second week in a row Buffalo has used a turnover inside their opponents 20 early in the game.

Tyler Benz would get Eastern Michigan on the board with a 15 yard touchdown pass to Jay Jones to pull the eagles to within 14 points but on the ensuing kickoff an EMU penalty forced a re-kick. Devon Campbell took that re-kick 96 yards for a touchdown.

Campbell would rush for a score in the early parts of the second half to make the score 35-7. Two series later Joe Licata hit Alex Neutx on a short hitch route that went for 27 yards and a score.

With the game well in hand both teams started to go to their bench towards the end of the third Quarter.. EMU would add a 75 yard run on an inside isolation play late in the fourth.

UB is now 3-2 which is the best record the team has had under Coach Jeff Quinn. The Bulls face Western Michigan in Kalamazoo next week while the Eagles will be back in New York state playing Army.
