The Mother ship has their latest bowl projections out and the consensus hold UB will make a post season trip to Saint Petersburg. If the Prediction holds the UB Bulls will take on the North Texas Mean Green in the Beef O' Brady's Bowl.
The Beef O' Brady's Bowl is takes place across the Bay from the Outback Bowl and it started in 2008. The Bowl game is played in Tropicana Field which seats about 35,000.
The Bowl Game, which is normally between the American Athletic Conference and Conference USA has typically drawn about 20,000. Last season Central Florida walked all over the Ball State Cardinals by a score of 38-17.
The Mean Green are finding their footing after a seriously down period. Should they make the post season it will be for the first time since 2004 when Darrell Dickey led North Texas to their fourth Straight Sun Belt Championship.
Since Hall of Fame Coach Hayden Fry left after the 1978 season, the team's winning percentage has trended downward. But it hit bottom between 2005 and 2012, when the team went just 22-71, a 24% winning percentage.
This is the first season in Conference USA for North Texas. They are currently third in the West division with a 4-3 record including a 2-1 mark in conference play.
Conference wide it looks like 6 MAC teams may go bowling. Buffalo, Toledo, and Ohio all picking up at large spots.
