The mother ship has released it's updated bowl projections in preparation for Week 8, and these new projections are give Buffalo a bowl game in our own back yard.
The New Era Pinstripe Bowl is held at Yankee Stadium. The bowl normally pairs the fourth-place team from The American against the seventh-place team from the Big 12 Conference. The winner of the game is awarded the George M. Steinbrenner Trophy, named after the former owner of the New York Yankees.
It's looking like the bowl may be reaching into the at large pool and it's hard to believe a Buffalo team with seven or eight wins won't receive a good long look from New Era who's founder is a UB Alumni and a big part of the "New York Bulls Initiative".
On the Amierican Side it looks like Rutgers would be the natural pick. This sets up a nice "New York / New Jersey" game.
Five other MAC teams are still projected to make a bowl this season, but according to Jason Kirk's latest projections, one of those bowls will be a BCS Bowl.
