Know your Bulls is a countdown to the kick off. If will look at every single UB football player on the roster. When the players number matches the number of days remaining then it's his turn in the spotlight.
Position: Running Back
From: Elma, New York
Played in 11 games last season
There was a stint last season when Buffalo seemed incapable doing damage on kickoff returns. It was, to me, the most painful football moment ever seen. And I was a Bills fan in the 90's.
Brandon Murie saved UB Nation from special teams trauma when Coach Quinn stuck him on the kickoff return team. By the time he started getting the ball in week nine he had already been a solid contributor on special teams racking up eight tackles and a fumble recovery. His special teams work eventually secured his position as Branden Oliver's number two man in the UB Backfield.
This seaon Murie came out of spring as hte number two back but with James Potts eligible, and healthy, for the first time in his short collegiate career that may be a hard position to hold.
Regardless of what happens in a battle for the number two job Murie will be a weapon on special teams.
