Position: Wide Receiver
From: Grand Island, New York
Started nine games before being injured
Back in 2010, with the departure of Turner Gill and Buffalo’s top two receivers, Neutz had a chance to help define what receivers would be under incoming head coach Jeff Quinn.
Neutz wasted no time securing his spot on the UB depth chart. In the season opener against Rhode Island he caught five passes for 99 yards including his first career touchdown.
On the season he caught 26 passes for 414 yards. In a season where the offense often was left motionless Neutz was a bright spot. He was named the Most Valuable Player on the offense and the top wide receiver on the team. He was also named to Phil Steele’s 2010 Postseason All-Freshman Fifth Team.
It was the best season for a freshman since Naaman Roosevelt.
Throughout last season Neutz continued to be the team’s top target for Senior Quarterback Chazz Anderson. While he was on pace to surpass a thousand yards he was sidelined by a broken wrist in week nine. Despite missing the final three and a half games of the season, he led Buffalo with four touchdowns and 641 receiving yards.
