Know your Bulls is a countdown to the kick off. If will look at every single UB football player on the roster. When the players number matches the number of days remaining then it's his turn in the spotlight.

Position: Linebacker

From: Thompson's Station

Played in all 12 games last season

Two years ago Scott Pettigew suffered a spring knee injury that ended his season before it began. He was a returning starter fighting to hold his spot when his season fell apart.

Then, midway through the season, Pettigrew was in the wrong place at the wrong time when he was stabbed in the chest. It's fair to say 2010 was a year to forget.

Despite the setbacks Pettigrew, who is described by coaches as a hard-nosed linebacker would not see his playing career and because of injuries, no matter how severe. He set about working his way back on the field and wound up playing in every game last season. He backed up Fred Branch last season and racking up thirty tackles and forced fumble.

This season he is once again playing behind Jaleel Verser.

I had mistakingly grabbed last years depth chart when I first wrote this, and because of that had Fred Branch ahead of Pettigrew. Thanks for the catch guys!
