The Bronko Nagurski Trophy, which is awarded best defensive play5r in Division One Football by the Charlotte Touchdown Club and the FWAA. This season Khalil Mack is on the watch list for the award. This is the first time ever that a Buffalo player has made the watch list.
He joins Running back Branden Oliver who was also honored with a spot on a national watch list. Oliver is the first Bull to be up for the Maxwell Award.
Last Season Khalil led the team in sacks, tackles for loss and forced fumbles in 2011. When all was said and done he was named to the All-MAC First Team and was tabbed by Sports Illustrated as an honorable mention All-American. His 20.5 tackles for loss stood as the third most in the nation. Mack also forced five fumbles sacked the quarterback five and a hlaf times and hurried quarterbacks 13 quarterback times.
The annual Bronko Nagurski Trophy Banquet will be Dec. 3 at the Westin Hotel in Charlotte, NC.
