Barksdale was an All-Metro and All-City (Detroit) selection during his senior season at Cass Tech. He was tated one of the top 150 defensive end recruits in the nation by scout. His rating, his film, and recording 12 tackles for loss in his senior season got him a late scholarship offer from UB in March of 2010.
He used his red shirt in 2010 and spent 2011 filling out the scout team. Barksdale saw action in five games, recording a tackle against Eastern Michigan. His time on the field was spent mainly with the special teams unit something he hopes to change this year.
It's not a promising depth chart for the younger players but at 6-4 and 301 pounds Dalton could compete for a place with the second team.
