Warde Manuel Hired as UConn Athletic Director - Sports - The Spectrum - University at Buffalo
One person that was at UB when Manuel first came to Buffalo six years ago was former Bulls point guard Byron Mulkey. He found out on twitter Sunday night and was immediately shocked. He didn't see it coming much like the rest of the UB community judging by the online reaction.

MAC East dominates crossover play, water is wet

Five Thoughts: MAC East Dominates Crossover Play
At least for Akron, Buffalo and Kent State. All three teams went a perfect 6-0 against the MAC West and coincidentally, they’re now the top three teams in the conference standings. The Zips and Golden Flashes came into the season as favorites, so their dominance wasn’t that surprising. But the Bulls used the past six games to build a tough-as-nails team that should carry this momentum into the home stretch.

Hill-MacDonald still looks for a winning record

UB women sink a game lower in MAC standings - Sports - The Buffalo News
By the end of this season Linda Hill-MacDonald will have coached three of UB's top five career scorers, two of the program's top three rebounders, two of the top five assist leaders and the runaway No. 1 in blocked shots. What she will not have done is coach a UB team to a winning record, and that could lead to the departure of the seventh-year coach with a contract that's set to expire.

Ernest who?

While there may have been some fanfare around his departure from Buffalo there was certainly no headlines generated by his arrival in south bend.

Haywood out of criminal court, will continue a civil suit against pitt

Domestic battery charges against ex-Pittsburgh Panthers coach Michael Haywood dropped - ESPN
An Indiana judge has dismissed a domestic battery charge against former Notre Dame offensive coordinator Michael Haywood, who served briefly as Pittsburgh's head football coach before the case led to his firing.

This has been covered to death but its worth restating.

I was somewhat sympathetic to Haywood when the charges turned out to be a whole lot less than they were initially thought to be. Here is a guy who landed a great job, his dream job then he lost it.

But the claims of racism are not only silly on their face but they may do more harm to Haywood's long term coaching career than the charges which coast him the Pitt job. If you were an Athletic Director would you interview a man who can get the job and *still* call you a racist?
