A flat tire but not a wreck for Notre Dame:
Notre Dame has one more shot at a quality win and while they avoided a knock out blow the certainly hurt their chances of making the title game.
You simply can not need three overtimes to beat a mediocre Big East team and expect to get a crack at winning it all.
Now Notre Dame needs help to get back up.
Ohio State is a non factor but the Irish will likely need help from Alabama, Kansas State, and Oregon if they hope to make the title game.
Alabama Survives
Alabama gets back to number one on my Ballot after beating LSU though Kansas state is probably still in firing range for the number one shot.
Kent, and the MAC Hangs tough
Kent was struggling against Akron but they turned things around to hang in the top 25. They are still joined by Toledo, Northern Illinois, and Ohio.
There is a very good chance that the MAC Championship game will feature two ranked teams for the first time in years.
