I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything
That didn't hurt so much did it!
Well I'd like to say losing the homecoming game to Pitt has me all out of whack but it really does not hurt that much when viewed through the context of UB football what else did we expect. The pain is getting numbed out a bit more with every dumpster fire I sit through.
Oh sure Ill still watch the games. A little pain every time the Bulls show just a little bit of life helps me to realize I can still care about this team. Every bad call, or softball like pass, every arm tackle it's just a reminder that we can still feel something.
The defense mostly showed up today but it seems like Pitt was just going through the motions. Its like a combination of the weather and indifference towards UB led the panthers to play some of the most bland offensive football that they could muster this season.
Offensively what can you say. When a team puts up nine more first downs, 80 yards more of offense, and three more minutes of possession time they should expect more than six points to show for their effort. But this is UB football, expect to be hurt on a pretty regular basis.
With UB staring at contest against Toledo next week it's a fair bet the Bulls will find another way to hurt, and soon.
