In the first game of the ACHA showcase in Youngstown Ohio Buffalo downed undefeated Kent State behind two goal performances by Matt Ganci and Tim Benner.With the win the Bulls are now 5-0 on the season.

The Bulls would never trail as Mark Zarbo started the scoring just over three minutes into the game. Kent and UB would trade blows throughout the first as UB went into the first intermission up 3-2. Ub would explode mid way through the second period, after two quick goals Buffalo chased Kent's net minder Tyler Ross off the ice. They would add one more for good measure in the second and go into the third up 6-2.
The Flashes would try to crawl back into the game with two late power play goals, bringing the score to 7-4 but that's as close as they would get as Greg Reed added an empty net goal with two seconds left.
