Bull Run Institute for SWAG Scoring

It Doesn't look like much, but the rent is cheap.

Inspired by Falcon Blog's weekly special teams scoring program I have decided to start my own institute. I will, with his permission, borrow his special teams scoring program and will create my own offensive and defensive scoring systems.

This Week I will score UB's special teams and it's offense from the UCF game. If you have any suggestions for the adjustment of the system please feel free to comment, this is a work in progress..

Part one Special Teams:

Here is the scoring System:

UB's Special teams had a net score of just one point in this contest the breakdown by unit is:
  • Field Goal Unit, -1 point (missed 40-50 yard FG)
  • Punting Unit, 2 points (on punt inside the 10 for 2 points, one punt for 45+ for one point, and one punt under 25 yards for negative one point)
  • Kickoff Unit, Zero Points (Two inside the 20 for one point each, and one outside the 50 for negative two points)
  • Kickoff Return, Zero Points (Two inside the 20 for negative one point each, and one outside the 50 for two points)
  • Field Goal Defense, Zero Points

UB's offense scored A 13 by this measure, here is the breakdown by drive:

As you can see UB gained most of it's points (23) on it's eighth drive of the game, the Touchdown that tied the fame 10-10 in the third quarter. The rushing game was the strength of the unit gaining 33 points, it could have been a lot worse if they lost either of the fumbles that were put on the ground.

The Passing game was not so hot, scoring just three points, it would have been worse but I have 'surrender touchdown as a situational measure, not a passing game measure (first thing I will change for next week).

That six point ding was not the worst of the situational score, ten failed third down conversions and and two failed fourth down conversions against only nine third down successes.

Here is the breakdown by phase for the offense:
