Lee Skinner - Another recruit joins for the 2010 season.

Coach Jeff Quinn has not been slow about using the scholarships, yesterday there was news about Illinois prospect Tyler Warden, today Bowz at UBFan found an article about Lee Skinner.

At 6-3 245, Skinner is a solid inside linebacker who's only downside seems to be his speed. He was on the radar at several schools, including Cincinnati, but was passed over for line backers who could better cover running backs in the spread offense.

But in the role as a run stopper and pass rusher Skinner excelled. During his senior season he netted more than 100 tackles, including six sacks. He was a second-team choice on the Greater Western Ohio League South Division all-conference team and he received special mention on the Dayton Daily News Division I All-Area team.

The linebacker was a prospect for Cincinnati but after the departure of Coach Kelly and Quinn he fell off the radar.  It was not until Quinn attended one of his sons wrestling meets that he noticed Skinner.
"If it wouldn’t be for wrestling I probably wouldn’t have gotten a football scholarship," Skinner said. "Coach Quinn was impressed with how I moved on the mat. He’s talking about maybe using me as a defensive end or a down lineman." -- Jeff Quinn
