Football Kickoff times and Television, 2011.

More details are coming out on this seasons football schedule, including times and TV outlets. From an attendance standpoint this should be one of the best schedules UB has had in years, perhaps a bit of a fall off from last years TV exposure but that may change if UB gets its act together.

So why am I so optimistic about attendance?
  • A lack of wonky weeknight games: UB has one home game which is not being played on a Friday night or Saturday, and that game is the season opener. Between football hungry fans and the beginning of the Quinn era UB should be able to draw well for our FCS game this season.
  • A lack of break games: UB's final home game is November 25th, the Saturday before thanksgiving. Games played during the few days before or after thanks giving are terribly attended contest. Between students finishing up work and those who leave early campuses tend to be ghost towns starting about Tuesday.
  • Very Winnable home games: If I had to pick the 6 most likely wins on our schedule five of them are home games. Aside from Temple and maybe UCF UB is not facing a team that it should not beat. Winning three or four of our first five home games may really help with the attendance for EMU.
