"I liked Buffalo. It’s a great atmosphere, So I called the head coach this past weekend [and committed]. He was ecstatic. He said ‘congratulations’ and I made the right decision." -- Auraum NuiriankhAfter playing as a forward while at Arundel High School (Baltimore Maryland) Nuiriankh was only getting looks from a few division I schools this motivated him to move to North Carolina, where he spent the past school year playing for Charis Prep. During the past year he moved to Guard where he has shown great potential averaging 18 points and 8 rebounds a game.

Auraum indicated that the atmosphere, quality of Basketball, and he indicated that the coaching staff told him he had chance to compete for time right away all factored into his choice.
"It’s a family atmosphere and they’re a winning program, ... I want the chance to go to the NCAA tournament and everything like that. [Buffalo] won 18 games last year. They were pretty good and had a chance at a couple postseason tournaments. They had a chance at the CBI and the NIT. ... I always knew with my size … and being able to shoot the ball that I was a Division I player. It was just a matter of exposure, but I never thought I would be possibly starting [at a Div. I school] in a year. … It’s a big weight off my shoulders." -- Auraum Nuiriankh
