This Wednesday Buffalo will hold its "Pro Day". UB, along with FIU and Lindenwood are the first schools to go. So far I have been told the Following Bulls will be participating:
Naaman Roosevelt: It's heresy against the football gods that Naaman did not get an invite to the NFL combine (and thats not just the fan in me talking, I've had several other bloggers tell me the same thing). What he did at Buffalo was completely rewrite the school's record books and made the All Conference team three times. He was *the* focus of defenses all year in 2009 and he still managed nearly one thousand yards in just ten games.

Barring a terrible showing Roosevelt is going to get drafted, he has the potential to be a solJid NFL receiver or a returner. He is too good to sit until free agency.

Brett Hamlin: Roosevelt gets all the attention but Hamlin was easily my favorite wide out this season. He does not have Roosevelt's speed or elusiveness but he does have an amazing set of mits. His numbers really got pinched this year by both Roosevelt and Jessie Rack but he still put up almost nine hundred yards and made more highlight catches than anyone else on the team.

A good pro day may get him a free agent look right after the draft.

Mike Newton: Mike Newton may be a sleeper in the Draft. All the attention given to Buffalo has focused on Starks and Roosevelt but there are more than a few draft prognosticators who say that Newton is a 6th or 7th round pick. Of course we know that he can play ball, so much of what he does is not going to be captured by stats, even though his stats are pretty impressive on their own merits.
If he has a solid pro day he may solidify his standing in the late rounds or, at the very worst, assure a quick pick up as a free agent like Drew Willy managed last season.

Kendrick Hawkins: This is another huge loss for us, Hawkins was a veteran leader in a talented secondary. As much as his leadership helped shape that unit its extremely unlikely he will get a sniff in the late rounds. He does have a shot at getting picked up as a free agent for tryouts but he is going to have to have a very solid day.

Lawrence Rolle: Rolle never really got a shot with the offense. On the roster he is a RB/FB but aside from being on the field to pass block he only has one career reception and no rushing stats that I can find on the NCAA's website. Unless he walks on water he is not going to get drafted and he probably wont get a free agent shot in the NFL but there are other football leagues and who knows what a strong day can show.
Ernest Jackson: Jackson is coming back for a pro day after an injury kept him for catching on with the Lions and then later with the Patriots. All healed now the class of 2008 receiver has two NFL tryouts in his pocket. EJ is obviously not trying for a draft position but he may, if healthy, be impressive enough to get a few more tryouts thrown at him this spring.

Sherrod Lott:I have heard that Sherrod Lott will also be working out on pro day, the legal matter against him has been dropped (Police being overly cautious with their charges, for which you can't fault them too much) and he is again fully reinstated on the team.
It's not very uncommon for Juniors with no intention of leaving the team to take place in pro day workouts especially those who think that they may potential draft picks the following year.

Jessie Rack: Patrick Moran over at Buffalo Sports Daily confirmed via a tweet that Jessie Rack Will be at the pro day. Rack was a huge part of the offense this past year, eclipsing the sum of his previous three years in yards, and touchdowns. His efforts landed him a first team all conference selection.Right now Rack is projected as an early free agent but several sites say if he can raise his stock, just a bit, that he may have a shot at being a late round pick.

James Starks: Buffalo Sports Daily has also confirmed that James Starks will be taking part in this years pro day. Starks is probably end up being the first Bull Taken in the draft and he had a great combine, despite the lack of buzz he outperformed all but a few of the running backs heading into this years draft. Having Starks and Roosevelt may help improve the visibility that some of the other Bulls who are borderline late round free agent pick get some notice.
The latest on starks is that he may go as early as the third round or as late as the sixth. A pro day will slide that scale towards the 3rd round.
