Coach Sal, who also acts as the teams recruiting coordinator sent me this update:
Head Coach Matt Baumgarten and Recruiting director Sal Valvo are pleased to announce their first two official recruits for the University of Buffalo 2010-2011 hockey class. We are also pleased to announce the addition of a player who finished the 2009-2010 season with the Bulls and who will now join the team full time in the 2010-2011 season.

Tim Root ( Massapequa High School/Long Island,N.Y) has committed to play his collegiate hockey for the University at Buffalo.

Associate Coach and recruiting director Sal Valvo said of Root , " I had a chance to meet with Tim this weekend while he was at the Amherst Center playing in the New York State High School Championship. He is a great kid with a very good grasp of what he wants out of life and he is very excited to join our hockey family. He was the best player at this tournament while taking his team to the semi finals. "

Tim plans on studying Pre-Med while at UB.

Matt Terreri (Wheatfield Jr. Blades/West Seneca, NY) After playing at D3 Lebanon Valley College for a half a year, Matt has committed to join the University at Buffalo’s hockey team for the 2010-2011 season. Matt, who is 6’3 200lbs, played his Jr. Hockey for the Wheatfield Jr. Blades and has totaled 66 pts (33g, 33a) in 90 games. Matt is a big player who plays hard and uses his size to create scoring chances. He is an unselfish player who likes to move the puck. He is currently enrolled at University at Buffalo.

Tim Benner (Minnesota Flying Aces MJHL/ Cheektowaga NY) will join the UB Hockey team for a full season starting in the 2010-2011 season. After graduating from St Francis High School in ’06 where he played 3 years on the St Francis Prep hockey Team ,Tim played two season in the Minnesota Junior Hockey League for the Minnesota Flying Aces.
