One thing that won't change in the Cal sports landscape is our fiery quarterback discussions, as Tedford maintains the QB competition will remain open. Beau Sweeney and Brock Mansion will get their chances to start under center again, although Kevin Riley is likely in the driver's seat. (If I had to post odds, Riley would be 75%, Sweeney 20%, Mansion 4%, Wertenberger 1%) That competition won't include Bridgford. The injury he sustained lifting weights will keep him out of action 4 to 6 months and makes him doubtful to see action in 2010. It does make Maynard's signing even more imperative, since Cal will be going into 2011 unclear of who their quarterback of the future will be.
