Dumping Pernetti basically forces Barchi to resign too, since he either blessed the suspension w/o paying attention OR lied about seeing the tape - there's really no other possibility. What an idiot. Protecting Pernetti and letting him land a big fish coach to change the news cycle was their only hope.
We are more focused on our Fantasy Draft the Mid-Major 5 than this one that took place at the beginning of the season, but ESPN went back to look at their picks from early in the year. I think the takeaway here is that you never know in college basketball. Just look at everyone's preseason All-American lists and then compare to who will likely be there at the end of the season. Big differences. It is funny to listen to these guys lament their choices as badly as we all lament our Fantasy Football or Baseball picks. Maybe we can start giving drafting advice over the summer, since we are #winning.
Kansas State senior quarterback Collin Klein has been named a finalist for both the Maxwell Award as the college football player of the year and the Davey O’Brien Award as nation’s best quarterback in a joint announcement by ESPN and the awards’ committees Monday afternoon.
Kansas State earned its highest-ever BCS ranking Sunday night when the Wildcats checked in at No. 2 in the latest standings announced on ESPN. K-State, which was fourth in the initial poll this season, tied its previous best ranking last week by checking in at No. 3 before moving up one spot on Sunday.
Following its hard-fought 27-21 victory Saturday at No. 25 Iowa State to move to 6-0, Kansas State was ranked fourth in the initial BCS standings released Sunday night on ESPN. The No. 4 ranking was tied for the highest for the Wildcats (6-0, 3-0 Big 12) in an opening BCS poll with the 1998 team, while it was the highest overall since sitting in third place for five straight weeks to end the 1998 season.
