Horizon League for University at Buffalo?

The door is open. With Valpo leaving the Horizon League, Buffalo could join the HL as its 10th member and then—should they decide—could drop to FCS for football. The HL doesn’t sponsor football so FBS participation would not be needed.

The Horizon League has a nice metro market feel with teams in Detroit, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Cleveland State, Cincinnati (Northern Kentucky), Oakland (Pontiac-Detroit), Illinois-Chicago, Youngstown State and Wright State (Dayton). Buffalo could thrive there!

The MAC is not a better basketball league---they both are one bid leagues. This move could help other sports AND could really help football become more competitive and compete on a national level at the FCS level.
