(UB Athletics) BUFFALO, NY – First-year head coach Nate Oats signed his second player for the 2015-16 season on Thursday as Willie Conner signed a National Letter Of Intent. Conner comes to the Bulls from Odessa College where he was a First-Team All-Conference Player.

Conner, a 6-5 wing player, who hails from Chicago, IL, averaged 16.7 points per game for Odessa as he shot 51.7% from the field and 42.7% from three point range. He went over 20 points 10 times last season, including a 30-point game where he shot 11-of-14 from the floor. Following the season he was named to the Western Junior College Athletic Conference First Team.

"Willie is a big-time shooter and he is exactly what we need to complement our current roster," said Oats. "His ability to space the floor and make shots will really allow us to open up our offense. He's a high-character guy that our players and coaches really enjoyed have around these past few days on his visit. We are looking forward to getting Willie back with us full time this summer."

Conner played one season at Florida A&M before transferring to Odessa. He played his high school basketball at Richard T. Crane High School in Chicago, where his team made it to the state semifinals. As a junior he averaged 20 points and five rebounds and as a senior he averaged 17 points, while his team made it to sectionals.

Conner joins fellow WJCAC player David Kadiri, who signed with the Bulls in late April, and Nick Perkins, who signed with UB back in November.
